A ‘ground-breaking’ 19,000-square-foot permanent exhibition opened in March 2007, telling the 13,000-year-old story of the peopling of the Americas. The Aztec empire forms a major focus for the exhibition, which includes a full-size replica of the Aztec Sunstone, cast from another replica owned by the University of Florida, Gainesville.
