In ancient Mesoamerica the left-hand side of the body has more vital force

Left hand side rules!

It seems that throughout ancient Mesoamerica the left-hand side of the human body was considered to be ‘the part of the body most heavily charged with vital force’. What’s more, it was considered to be the female side (Written by Ian Mursell/Mexicolore).

That’s why Maya mothers have always carried their babies on the LEFT hip, from the age of 3 months (marked by the ancestral ‘Hetzmek’ ceremony, still performed today in Maya communities).
