As Lord of the Winds, Quetzalcoatl became a god associated with vegetation and fertility. Here he is shown as a bearer of grain, in the form of an Aztec tamene, or porter. His load consists of five maize cobs, the symbol of the maize goddess. St. Louis Art Museum, Missouri, USA.
