Close up of a polychrome cuauhxicalli figure (reclining human figure with a sacrificial tray on his lap - popularly known as ‘chac-mool’). This particular figure, in the ruins of the Templo Mayor in central Mexico City, is apparently unique, being the only one ever found with its original colouring. (Credit: NJ Saunders)
