Why did the gods destroy the four [previous] worlds if they made them in the first place? Asked by Dallow Primary School. Chosen and answered by Professor Elizabeth Graham.

No one knows. But to the Aztecs, creation and destruction were part of the natural order of things. They didn’t see destruction as bad. Think of it as cleaning your room. When you clean your room, you ‘destroy’ the existing order of things (even if stuff was in a mess) but you create a new order. Now, mums tend to like the new order but kids tend to like the old order...
